Madhav Kumar Nepal was born in 2005 B.S .He comes from a middle class family in Rautahat District . He started his political career openly from 2031. He has become active in politics since 2036. He was one of the CPN (ML) Leaders to start struggle against the Panchayat System .He lead the Constitution Draft Committee after the abolition of the Panchyat System in 2047-48, the constitution of the kingdom of Nepal. It was a democratic constitutional monarchy.
He was the elected leader of the parliamentary party of the C.P.N.(UML) during 2056-2058. He became the deputy prime minister in 2051. He again became the parliamentary party leader of the CPN(UML) in 2063 B.S. The dissolved parliament was reinstated .
Madhav Kumar Nepal lead the CPN (UML) as the general secretary for 15 years . He resigned from this post when he was defeated in the Constituent Assembly. Similarly, he was unanimously made the chairperson of the new Constituent Draft Committee the Constituent Assembly .
Representing the CPN (UML) Madhav Kumar Nepal played an important role to bring the CPN (Maoist) to peaceful politics by ending armed conflict . He along with Garija Prasad Koirala of the Nepali Congress is one of the main leader to bring armed insurgency of the CPN (Maoist) to an end.
